Platester ™ Commitment to Safety:

Platester ™ is 100% committed to safety. We have drafted and adopted this policy as part of this commitment. Furthermore, we intend to see that we adhere to it accordingly. Being safe online and offline are vital to communicate on any online dating, or networking, community. As your license plate messaging network, it is imperative that our members are informed and are fully aware of the safety measures they can follow. We have posted this policy here for you to read and review. It has also been adopted as an addendum to our terms of use agreement.

By accessing or using the platester^® network, you agree to follow and be bound by this policy and the principles of safety contained herein in accordance and/or as an addendum to the platester^® terms of use agreement, if you do not agree then you cannot access or use our site and/or services.

DEFINITIONS:

Encounter: is defined as a meeting with another, be it expected or unexpected.

Interacting: is defined as to be or becoming involved in communicating with another,be it voluntary or involuntary. Posting a profile, and/or uploading multimedia, and allowing for your informationto be viewed by others are deemed to be interacting with those viewers.

PRINCIPLES OF SAFETY:

1. Use Common Sense, meaning that you should use practical judgment derived from experiences rather than study. Do not do things a reasonable person would not do. Ask questions, and make sure to check the answers.

2. Do Your Homework carefully and thoroughly; meaning do all the necessary research, and preparation, as well as checking all facts, and/or claims by others before any interaction. If you cant do this independently then hire a private investigator and/or check criminal records, many sites offer background checking services. However, keep in mind that some information may be concealed by law and/or other reasons, and you should not let down your guard because of a clean record, it could lead to a false sense of security. Always use good judgment and remember the adage, if its too good to be true then it probably isn't true. Only do what a reasonable person would do. And report any lewd behavior.

3. Research safety techniques for online safety, and offline safety, we recommend you do this locally at your public library, and by accessing popular search engines such as Google.com or Yahoo.com Research all potential dangers and all risks foreseeable and unforeseeable of interacting online and/or offline.

4. Be Aware and informed of the latest news, public announcements, and/or community news online and offline regarding safety. Review government crime trend reports, warnings, gather information to advance your knowledge of what to look out for. This could help you to avoid being conned, scammed, swindled, defrauded, and/or victimized in any way. Some dangers and/or threats to your safety are evolving, foreseen and unforeseen so you should prepare yourself for these evolving scenarios.

5. Take Accountability and Responsibility for yourself, no one else can assure or guarantee your safety, keep your senses on alert, do not be naive, do not be provocative, do not invite danger, mind your actions and behaviors. Follow our privacy policy contained on this site and be sure that you reveal your personal information intelligently and accordingly. Although our site promotes social networking, interacting, and dating our safety policy dictates how you should interact online and/or offline, if you want a 100% guarantee of safety then you should not be involved in any interaction with others period, much less be visiting this site. Be smart, accountable, responsible, informed, and prepared. We will say it again, do only what a reasonable person would do.

6. Research self-defense options, be educated, and follow all laws and regulations regarding the use of. See what your community offers for classes and/or programs and decide for yourself if you should attend. We say this merely to inform you of a safety option, but make no recommendation for its use, or non-use. Self-defense is a personal decision, you and only you can make. We DO NOT promote taking the law into your own hands, nor the taking of extreme measures. Consult your local law enforcement and seek legal advice if you are considering this alternative form of safety.

7. We recommend that you inform family and friends, at all times, of your plans to interact with others. You should communicate the following information; who you are meeting, what you have planned, where you are going to, when you will be there, how you are getting there, and why you are meeting this person. This is a good rule of thumb whenever you are going to be interacting or having an encounter with another person alone. We also recommend to make sure the G.P.S. function on your mobile device is at least set to 911 available.

8. Communication in an emergency. You should always have enough change for a phone call, or carry a fully charged cell phone, key alarm, whistle, and/or some other communication medium to use in times of emergency. You should also communicate with us if there are any unanswered questions regarding your safety. You agree to defend, indemnify and hold Platester^™ and/or Platester^™ related companies, their officers, agents,employees, independent contractors, their partners, suppliers, and affiliates harmless from any and all liabilities,costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, related to any violation of these terms and conditions by you,or related to your use of the site, and/or interaction arising from such use of this site and/or our services. You agree to indemnify and hold platester^® harmless from any and all third party claims or demands for any loss, liability,or damages arising from your use and/or conduct online or offline.
