As a condition of platester.com ® terms of service agreement truthful information must be provided by users. We also do the email verification thing, to increase the honesty policy. Any false information provided would have the potential for both civil and criminal penalties pursuant to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act any intentional falsification would also be subject to state and federal identity theft laws as well. One way they will know for sure, is when you reply to them. You can also let them know that you're a fan by displaying a platester.com ® sticker or license plate frame. These items, and more can be found at the Platester™ Store. However, no sticker is required to be on a vehicle since every license plate can be used to send and receive messages. All messages are stored at our patent pending central repository on the platester® network. Once the person in question inputs the license plate numbers and letters, with their state, and selects "Open" they then will read your license plate message you sent, and can reply to you.
Yes, we include all plates, even yours, in our database.
NO! Not unless you post it in your profile, which we do not recommend.
Good question, but the answer is absolutely not. The Dept of Motor Vehicles must follow the Driver's Privacy Protection Act regarding everyone's personal and private information. This means you can not call up your local DMV, and get details on someone, using their license plate information. platester.com ® definitely does not recommend attempting to access their highly secure servers either. Only Law Enforcement Agencies have access to that with just cause of use. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ILLEGALLY ACCESS ANY STATE OR FEDERAL SERVER, EVER..
We actually only get license plate numbers and letters, with state, that are provided to us by users as a condition of our terms of service. Also, all we have as far as information goes, is the numbers and letters, with state, on a license plate plus an email address, if the user decides to give it to us. If we get an email address from the user we can forward their license plate messages to that email account. To put this into perspective take a drive after reading this to your local store, and you should see a certain amount of public license plates with numbers and letters, with a state on it. Now you have about a certain amount of license plates worth of information of numbers and letters with a state, its been like this since the license plate came out back in the Industrial era... Its just those numbers and letters, with state, you use as a unique screen name on our network to communicate with other motorists using our patent pending central repository.
the U.S. there are about 140,000,000 passenger vehicles, in the world there are over 500,000,000 passenger vehicles registered. Every license plate in the United States are available on our site. Yes, yours too.
Below are 10 great reasons:
1. To Avoid Embarrassment- You don't want to be the last person again in your group to hear about the next big online network. This is your chance to be fashion forward or ehh, social forward. You get the point. Just be the first to educate your people about this, if you want to grow those stats amongst your peers. If your reading this because you are the last again, we don't have anything for you but some old license plate messages you should have read some time ago, sorry.
2.Possibly Date- You want to ask someone for a date but don't have his/her email address or phone number, so instead you get that PLATESTER® and send a license plate message. Hopefully that special someone replies yes. But no worries, if the answer is no, at least it wasn't in person, so no embarrassment. You could also find some other possible dates while building up some courage to ask again. We recommend to never place all your eggs in one basket.
3.Road Rage Venting - You almost got in an accident because some idiot just cut you off in traffic. While you were minding your own business, doing the quick electric shave thing, on the phone with your boss, telling him why your going to be late today and drinking your morning caffeinated brew with spill proof lid. Your angry, this guy just cut you off! You want to send that idiot a nasty license plate message for all to see on the platester public license plate messaging network™. Then search "anger management", later on, plus your area code and make that call for an appointment.
4.Get Noticed- You want other people to be able to search your profile on Platester.com ® so that they can find out your profile stats, and 3 links we let you put on your page to link to your other favorite networks and websites.
5.Sell Your Car- You want to sell your car, you list the selling price on your profile or include a link to your Craigslist ® advertisement.
6.Photography- You are a top notch photographer, "well at least that's what you say", and you are out scouting for beautiful models. You see one just as she quickly drives off, however you were able to get her license plate number. You can send a license plate message to the potential model's plate seeking her out for a photo shoot.
7.Employment- You are trying to find a job but haven't been having much luck, then you see a well dressed business person, driving a convertible sports car, who said "no" to your sign asking for some loose change. At least you can send a license plate message with a link to your resume for that driver offering your personal services.
8.Business- You're a plumber, and your name is Joe. You pass by someone in traffic who knows they have plumbing problems, they missed getting your phone number on the side of your truck. However they did see the license plate PLMBR4U you check your plate™ messages and there's a message that says, "Joe, Can you fix my kitchen sink...?"
9.Teenage Drivers- You decide to let Junior use your shiny new car, he drives like a maniac, but you only discover that after, viewing your plate™ messages, later that night. You can now have a discussion with Junior about safe driving, and cover the honesty policy.
10.Nitpick- You see someone driving and text messaging at the same time, while you notice their child in the back seat with no seat belt. You can send license plate messages to tell them, "shame on you, Buckle Up."
